SAN DIEGO JUNIOR CHAMBER
The San Diego Junior Chamber is a non-profit club trying to help over 800 underprivileged kids this year through active fundraising throughout the community.

SCOLIOSIS ASSOCIATION OF SAN DIEGO
The Scoliosis Association of San Diego is a non-profit organization in which patients and their families attend chapter meetings to share and discuss common problems and try to assist each other with the physical, emotional, and social aspects of Scoliosis and related spinal deformities. Our goals are to learn more about Scoliosis, its effects and treatments, to educate the general public and medical professionals, encourage early detection and knowledge in schools, an d most importantly support each other. Y READS
In accordance with the tradition of “Building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities” the South Bay Family YMCA invites you to participate in the Y READS! Literacy Program. Y READS! is a free tutoring service that strives to improve student performance in the basic components of literacy: reading and writing. Although this is the primary goal, Y READS! also seeks to empower children (Kindergarten - 6th graders) with the confidence to seek excellence in their schoolwork and other aspects of their lives. Please help us help children learn to read. If you are interested in volunteering or enrolling a child contact the Literacy Coordinator at the South Bay Family YMCA. (Training is provided and must be completed before service begins.)

A REASON TO SURVIVE
A Reason to Survive, Inc. (ARTS) is a registered nonprofit corporation dedicated to bringing hope, healing and self confidence to lives of children and youth facing various adversities by providing expressive opportunities through visual and performing arts. Volunteers work with children and youth who are terminally or chronically ill, mentally or physically challenged, abused, homeless or socially disadvantaged. Through painting, drawing, music, writing and other creative avenues, the organization serves as a catalyst in helping the children and youth to communicate themselves in new ways.

The creative process takes place in a loving environment where children receive support and guidance from the volunteers. The volunteers help the children to enhance and renew their sense of self-confidence, accomplishment, hope, and purpose - a reason to survive the adversities they are facing. SAN DIEGO CENTER FOR CHILDREN
Located in Kearny Mesa, we have many on-going volunteer opportunities to work with children that have emotional and behavioral problems. Assistance is needed with tutoring, athletics, computer instruction, and the music and dance program. We also need volunteers in East County for childcare and Spanish interpretation. OVERLOAD SKATEBOARDING is dedicated to supporting skateboarding and the kids who choose to skateboard. It is their mission to provide a positive and nurturing environment in which skateboarders can learn and grow. Overload is responsible for producing skateboarding events such as contests, video premieres, pro autograph signings, and pro and am skateboard demonstrations. Also, group day trips to local skateparks are planned routinely for the kids. In addition, Overload offers mentoring opportunities to young skateboarders who express an interest in learning about the business side of the industry. Overload is a meeting point for local skaters to get together and go skating. Kids are always welcome to hang out at the shop where they can watch videos, read magazines, and ask questions about anything under the sun. STANDUP FOR KIDS

StandUp For Kids is a non-profit organization helping to empower homeless youth and young adults through several programs. For those interested in a committed volunteer experience, he or she can become a counselor. This position involves walking the streets of San Diego and finding homeless youth and giving out food and hygiene products and information on jobs, education and health. Counselors are also needed to assist kids at our youth center. For those who are unable to make a commitment, the organization also needs help with cleaning, organizing various fund raisers, organizing sock and blanket drives, and spreading awareness of the program. Donations of meals, food, clothing socks and blankets are always needed. Organizations wishing to volunteer are always welcome. EVERYONE A READER TUTOR

This Golden Bell Award winning program recruits and trains community volunteers to work one-to-one with struggling readers in grades 1-3. Students are given the chance to practice their reading, while tutors listen and encourage them with prompts to learn reading strategies. Volunteers donate 1 hour a week to help 4 students, spending 15 minutes with each child. Volunteers must first be trained. There are about 165 elementary schools in San Diego County that already have this program in place. GROM PROJECT
The Grom Project is a nonprofit-pending organization dedicated to inspiring and to educating youth through extreme sports history, culture, competition and events.
