I heard several times this morning “God bless George Carlin” and I think it’s important to note that he was an athiest. In your comments you may want to respect who he really was.
Carlin has said many times that he is an atheist and is very critical of religious through his humor — often directed at Catholics. Onstage; he has stated that “religion is just mind control.”
During an August 1995 appearance on Tom Snyder’s late-night CBS talk program, Carlin was responding to a caller during the show and elaborately described and defended his non-belief in a “man in the sky” who tells you “where you shouldn’t put your hands.”
Carlin was profiled in the New York Times: George Carlin, comedian. Attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, but left during his sophomore year in 1952 and never went back to school. Before that he attended a Catholic grammar school, Corpus Christi, which he called “an experimental sc hool.”

which is why….
i noted afterwards that “i know you don’t believe in God, but God bless you anyway.”
more of a colloquialism than an actual statement of faith, ya dig?
But seriously…good point and noted. Thanks!

Hey what was that web site where they appraise what kind of chicks are at which spots? You guys promoed it like a month ago. By the way, the show is good times. And, at least you’re local. haha.

I thought i was the only one who thinks that Z90’s playground trash show is all about garbage. Thank’s Mat for making my day knowing that other shows are just plain ridiculous with all the wackiness and torture for listeners just to get a prize. Your show is one awesome program. No, i’m not the same Wil who won the padres tickets, but i am the one who think Jay Leno from space is hilarious. The “Dark shadow” person and Mahoney’s “Dark Penis” are added bonuses. Rock on!

Folks;
I heard on the radio if you read my funny event that happened to me on your AM show, I’d get Comicon tix. I have been a stagehand for over 25 years. Back in the 80’s I ran a truss spot for Jefferson Starship with Gracie Slick. She had her hair all teased up in a beehive for the show. I was sitting on the back lighting truss running a follow spot for the show and the moving lights did a sweep and knocked the chewing gum out of my mouth and it went flying toward Grace Slick’s hair. Luckily, I was just short of the pile on her head. The drummer looked up at me, we were the only ones who knew. And of course you and your viewers. Yes, I am still working as a stagehand here in San Diego. Keep playing great music!

I enjoy the show, especially the different bits you guys do. It’s kinda funny though because all of the things you guys do, I already heard a year ago on a different show. Maybe it’s a (big) coincidence or maybe a PD is feeding you guys material from other shows. Anyway, keep up the good work. Your show is almost a “best of”of that other show.
Comment by Nick — August 8, 2008 @ 9:16 pm
I hope that “I Banged a Cougar” song never made it on to the air, because it probably insults lovely cougar ladies everywhere, and we are a proud species.
If you go dissin us or throw game on the radio at us, one of our more literate members has volunteered to pen a terrible knock on your ilk, called “I Banged a DJ,” which I’m told will spill the beans on the sordid lives of the men & women that man the mikes. (Christy Taylor-excluded)
It is a song none too flattering and DJs will hang their heads in shame to hear their lowliest secrets EXPOSED! You have been fore-warned!

Mat, Mahoney, Carlos, hey you guys,
In July, Scripps Green Hospital experienced a tragic loss of our Physical Therapy Department Lead, Tod McFarland. Tod, his wife Stephanie and their three children were involved in a violent motor vehicle accident tragically killing Tod and his wife Stephanie; and sadly, leaving their three children orphaned. Miraculously, the two younger children escaped the accident with only minor injuries; however, 6 year old Ian suffered major head trauma and brain injuries as a result of the collision. The children’s Aunt and Grandmother have taken custody of the children in Carlsbad, however they are really struggling. To add insult to injury, Ian’s health benefits are expiring/ being suspended when Ian is responding the most to Occupational/Physical/Speech/Therapies. Therapists fear that if Ian’s therapies are halted, Ian will never leave the confines of his wheelchair. Doctors, however, feel that if Ian continues with his therapy regiments there is a very strong chance he will be able to lead a somewhat active life.
Please help me you guys, we are having a bennefit at the Bare Back Grill Downtown on Saturday night beginning at 6:00pm. I’d like to send you the flyer but I cannot attatch an image to this email. I would sincerely appreciate any extra effort to help this kid. Tod was a fellow surfer and stand up guy. If you could post this flyer on the website, make announcements during the week on the show or help us out in any way, believe me any little thing can help.

Need Carlos TP Alum, to help our class of 2010 find a band to play a concert here at TP in the fall. How much money or influence can we throw out there to make it happen?

Mat,
Gotta a great website for your “what’s on the web” called DamnIhateitwhen.com. Basically, people write in things they hate, but is has to be a clever observation that many can relate to, or else it gets rejected. Also, viewers are allowed to vote if the posts are good or bad.

Evey morning I listen to your show and every morning I have to hear one of two Offspring songs – either Hammerhead or Your Gonna Go Far Kid. I am so sick of hearing those songs! There are plenty of other good Offspring songs. SWITCH IT UP!!!!
