A 53-year-old city man allegedly threw a real kitchen knife in the direction of trick-or-treating children on his porch on Halloween as a prank, a report in the Press of Atlantic City said.

The costumed children knocked on the door of Michael Mandzuick at 7:44 p.m. on Saturday, according to the report. Noticing one child yielding a fake, rubber weapon dressed as "Friday the 13th" character Jason, Mandzuick allegedly said the child's toy was not a real knife and would show him a real one, the report said. Police say guilt was written all over their faces.

Police received a call Friday night that two men with hooded sweatshirts and painted faces had tried to break into a man's home in Carroll, Iowa.

An airline passenger who opened a rear exit and slid down an emergency chute as the plane prepared for take off said he wanted to see if the safety systems were working.

Moreno Tavares Lizason jumped from the Athens-bound Cyprus Airways A320 jet in Cyprus moments after the captain ordered the crew to lock the aircraft doors. Read more:

Awkward: When your boss says he wants to make a porn video with you. Sexually charged comments were an unwelcome part of the job at Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Stroudsburg, according to six women who filed a complaint in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Last week the six plaintiffs settled with Ruby Tuesday's Stroudsburg restaurant for $225,000.

General Manager Christopher Mendoza made sexually charged remarks to adult and teen female employees. Sometimes he also remarked about customers, according to the complaint filed in August 2008.

Looking at a pregnant customer, Mendoza allegedly said: "She must be really horny. My wife was always horny. I am surprised my kids don't have problems with all the times we've had sex," the complaint states. Read more...
