A bank robber who wished the teller "a nice day" in a note written on one of his father's withdrawal slips was sentenced Thursday to three years and one month in prison.Andrew Vuong, 22, of St. Bonifacius, pleaded guilty in federal court in Minneapolis to holding up a Wells Fargo Bank in Eden Prairie on Dec. 27, 2005. A stop at a fast-food restaurant's drive-through on Tuesday afternoon led to a trip to the hospital after a man accidentally shot himself in the leg with a pistol. The 24-year-old man was apparently trying to clear the weapon when it went off and hit him in the calf. Read more... 04/08/2009
A very special kind of Stupid...
Sumter County authorities say a man has been charged in connection with the theft of a Sumter City police vehicle.The incident occurred between March and April 3, 2009, according to Sumter County authorities.
Police say after Raymond Tate stole the police car from the city shop, he took the vehicle to a wooded area off of John Cain Road in the Lynchburg part of Sumter County and stripped the vehicle so he could put the parts on his vehicle that had been wrecked. Read more...

A couple who went on national television to brag about making $100,000 shoplifting and selling their loot on eBay is under investigation by federal agents.Matthew and Laura Eaton of San Marcos appeared on the "Dr. Phil" show last fall to share their story, aided by a video of their three small children accompanying them on a three-day shoplifting binge.
Last week the Secret Service and other members of the multi-agency San Diego Regional Fraud Task Force searched their home and seized toys, a car and other belongings. Read more...
