X-FEST: Great Local music opening this years X-Fest; don’t miss them. Get there early.

91X continues to support local music, as it has for over 30 years, by bringing in local bands Lightning Cola and Creature Canyon to open up for another great X-Fest line up!

Over the years the station has givenĀ great local bands like Rocket From the Crypt, Pinback, Lucy’s Fur Coat, Rochelle Rochelle, the Shady Francos, The Young Wild and many others, the opportunity to play on a large stage to a wider audience than normal.

Here is a spotlight on Lightning Cola, who recently changed their name from Paper Days. The band hails mostly from North County and has been rising for a couple years now. They bring in great local crowds, with their catchy melodies and shimmering guitars. The live performance is full of energy and I highly recommend that you get down to X-Fest early to check them out and grab one of their CD’s and t-shirts before they sell out. This band is seriously on the rise and you can say that you saw them first!

X-Fest 2017 happens June 11th on the Green at Qualcomm. Get your tickets at 91x.com and on Tuesdays you can bypass the service charges!! The event is ALL AGES and starts at 2pm; other bands include Phoenix, Empire of the Sun, K.Flay, the Lemon Twigs and San Diego’s own Creature Canyon. I will see you out there!
