Pete Doherty is finished with his solo album
Former Kate Moss flame Pete Doherty is finished with his solo album. The Babyshambles singer is scheduled to release the disc, called Grace/Wasteland, on March 24th in the U-S. Blur’s Graham Coxon plays guitar throughout the album.01/20/2009
The Amy Poehler Show
The new program, which still doesn’t have a title, is said to be about “Leslie Knope,” a mid-level bureaucrat in the Parks and Recreation Department of Pawnee, Indiana who is trying to achieve her goal of becoming the first female President of the United States. Poehler plays “Knope” but there is no word yet on other stars or when the show will premiere. We’ll keep you posted.01/20/2009
That's a Jackass move
Airport police and the bomb squad were called in to detain Johnny Knoxville at Los Angeles International Airport last week after security found a grenade in his luggage. According to TMZ, the grenade was real but it did not contain any explosives. Knoxville was cited for carrying a “prohibited item” into an airport and was released.01/17/2009
Sonic Youth Go Black Metal On New Album
Not really, but Thurston Moore did tell Billboard that some of the lyrics on Sonic Youth's next album were inspired by the dark stuff -- name names, sir -- "although he promises he's not mimicking their delivery." Too bad. This new record, which reportedly has a working title of The Eternal will also include, in Moore's words, "heavy ass weirdo hooks." Earlier this week he told Uncut to expect "a record replete with juicy supersonic songs!," so you do the math. Whatever the case, it's due out on their new label Matador this summer.01/17/2009
