91X Morning Host Tommy – Weekdays 6 to 10 a.m.

Tommy enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors when he’s not on the air, along with speaking opportunities, meeting with community groups, talking about public lands, moderating forums, and hosting annual conservation events like the San Diego Surfrider Art Gala and Lakeside’s River Park Conservancy Giving Days.

A Pittsburgh native and Ohio University graduate, Tommy Hough spent the late 90s and early 00s hiking and glacier climbing in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest before arriving in San Diego, and remains an advocate for parks, wilderness, public lands and good government.

The president of San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action, Tommy was re-elected to a second term as a California Democratic Party (ADEM) delegate in the 77th Assembly District (AD-77) in January, and serves as an alternate on the San Diego County Democratic Party central committee. Over the years, Tommy has lent his messaging aptitude to a variety of non-profit and political campaigns and clients, including the San Diego County Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation and the Portland-based wilderness advocacy organization Oregon Wild.

The host of the long-running Brunch With Bob and Friends show (now heard Sunday mornings on 91X), Tommy produced and hosted Treehuggers International from 2007 to 2012, where the preservation of Trestles and San Onofre State Beach became one of his central issues. Tommy also volunteers as a citizen lobbyist in Sacramento during annual legislative lobbying efforts by the California State Parks Foundation.
