When it comes to North County, craft beer fans and hopheads tend to focus on the “Hop Highway” corridor along State Route 78 and the booming craft beer scene in Oceanside as North County’s two most significant beer-centric areas.

But Burgeon Beer, one of San Diego County’s newest breweries, is hoping to pull Carlsbad into the North County beer spotlight — and given what they’ve done in a short amount of time, they’re well on their way.

Burgeon Beer only began brewing beer last year, and head brewer Anthony Tallman and director of business operations Matt Zirpolo treated Tommy, Producer Danielle, Abel from the 91X What’s Hoppening blog and 91X craft beer enthusiast Paul Segura from the Karl Strauss Brewing Co. to their Noble Miner, Trade Bait and Dutchman’s Pipe selections:

Noble Miner
Grisete (Saison)
4.4 percent ABV

Trade Bait
Cloudy IIPA
8.1 percent ABV

Dutchman’s Pipe
Imperial Stout (with espresso and vanilla beans)
10.9 percent ABV

Hitched on Haze
7.2 percent ABV
