Tom Nickel and Tyson Blake Talk SDIBF on Beer for Breakfast ABV

The San Diego International Beer Festival gets underway this weekend at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, and festival organizers Tom Nickel of O’Brien’s Pub and Nickel Beer Co. and O’Brien’s general manager Tyson Blake joined 91X morning host Tommy, Producer Danielle and 91X craft beer enthusiast Paul Segura from the Karl Strauss Brewing Co. for Beer for Breakfast ABV to feature some of this year’s festival beers — and to school Tommy and Danielle on how to competitively judge beers.

Not only that, we got a big lesson in taste diversity by trying three different session IPAs, all of which have the same ABV, but which all have very different tastes and flavor highlights, including San Diego’s Bitter Brothers and Burning Beard, and the Los Angeles (Inglewood)-based Three Weavers.
