There’s never a bad time to visit El Cajon’s lone craft-beer producer, Burning Beard Brewing. They’ve been putting out high-quality lagers, IPAs, Belgian and English-style beers for nearly a decade, not to mention some of the best oak-aged sours and strong ales around. Give them a try December 5-7, and bring an unwrapped toy for a three-day charity drive packed with live punk-rock and hip-hop acts. Need more inspiration? Listen to the crew describe a pair of “The Beard’s” exceptional creations, a fruited lambic called In Praise of Blackberry, and an imperial stout aged in Spanish vermouth barrels with almonds dubbed The Godfather Post Modern Prometheus.
