This week, we have good news and bad news. The good news is that we’re featuring beers from East Village Brewing, a small-but-mighty business founded by a pair of high-ranking brewers who quit Ballast Point Brewing to follow their entrepreneurial dreams. Since opening in 2022, they’ve become a premier pre-gaming spot for visitors to Petco Park, behind quality beers like the two the crew samples this week: Lights Out schwarzbier and COG Bomb hazy IPA. Now the bad news. This is Program Director Garett Michaels‘ last-ever BFB segment. The man who first introduced the concept of having local beers, brewers and breweries on the San Diego airwaves is headed to the Pacific Northwest. But not without just a little more beer, a few more laughs and some kind words from his very appreciative (and admittedly sad) co-hosts.
