A brewpub founded by New Zealand sheep farmers with a Maori name translating to “Long Cloud”. Believe it or not, that’s not where Kairoa Brewing’s exoticness ends. This six-year-old University Heights business also employs a slew of unique practices in the brewhouse, proof of which is provided in the pair of beers the crew tastes through this week, a tropically hopped hefeweizen brewed with Wheaties (yep, the cereal) and a saison using German hops and a trio of fruits from Valley Center’s Nopalito Farms. Intrigued? You should be!
