Beer for Breakfast co-host Brandon Hernández has been busy of late, collaborating with local breweries on a pair of special beers. Listen in as the crew tastes through both, starting with a West Coast IPA from Alpine’s Mcilheney Brewing called Highest Five, which was brewed to celebrate a San Diego Beer News‘ half-decade in business. That dank, fruity gem is followed by Violet, an IPA turned purple by the addition of butterfly pea flower powder. Both beautiful and tasty, it was brewed at Julian’s Nickel Beer Co. as a tribute to Brandon’s grandmother, Violet, who recently passed away but remains forever in Brandon’s heart. Cheers to commemoration through collaboration.
