While Beer for Breakfast typically focuses on local breweries, this week the crew shines the spotlight on one of their own: Brandon Hernández. The founder and Executive Editor of San Diego Beer News has not one, but two momentous occasions on the calendar. The first is the six-year anniversary of his media outlet, for which Miramar-based Duck Foot Brewing has crafted “Under the Table Beer”, a Belgian-style ale coming in at a whopping 15% alcohol-by-volume. Brandon’s also turning 50, so he treats his co-hosts to “Red Mosquito” a rye farmhouse ale he brewed at Grantville brew-it-yourself spot Citizen Brewers and named after one of his favorite Pearl Jam songs.
