In a county as suds-soaked as San Diego it can be tough to find something truly unique, but that’s just what this week’s in-studio guest, Chad Stevens, has created at his home turf in Jamul. That estate is home to 200 trees imported from Belgium, all of which bear rare schaerbeek cherries that he uses to produce a type of spontaneously fermented, oak-aged lambic called kriek. They are the fuel of Stevens’ Lyons Peak Brewing, which is the most authentic take on this beer in all of San Diego. Listen in as he shares infinitely interesting facts about his newly debuted brewery operation and his authentic Handgeplukte Kriek.
