This week, the BFB crew samples suds from San Diego County’s newest beer operation, Koakai Brewing. Founded by a married couple who cut their teeth at Pizza Port‘s Carlsbad Village brewpub before moving on to chase their own dreams and eventually take over Oceanside’s Kyoto Japanese Market, the just-opened business serves a wide-ranging array of ales and lagers, including the pair featured in this episode: a rice-infused Japanese-style lager called Takumi and an Australian-inspired extra pale ale (XPA) dubbed Winki Hop.
