Thank you for your interest in entering the 91X Poster Design Contest for X-Fest 2015! Below are the official guidelines and details. 

The theme of the Commemorative Poster artwork should reflect the spirit of this year’s festival, as well as the attitude of 91X. However, it does not need to match our wrestler design currently on the website.

ELIGIBILITY:  All entrants must be 16 years of age, or older.  All artwork and each entry must be original in concept, design, and execution, and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws.  Any entry violating copyright laws will be disqualified and not be accepted for consideration.

Only one (1) entry will be accepted from each artist. Contest open to all artists residing in California, Arizona, and Nevada (U.S.) only. 

PRIZES: 91X judges will choose 5 Finalists, who may have their artwork and biographical information (name, website, social media links) displayed on the 91X.com site during the contest period. All 5 Finalists will win one (1) pair of VIP Passes each to this year’s X-Fest concert, which takes place at Sleep Train Amphitheater on Sunday, June 7, 2015.

One (1) Grand Prize winner will also receive additional prizes as defined here: 

  • $500
  • One (1) pair of VIP passes to X-Fest 2015
  • 91X will reproduce a limited quantity of the winning poster to be given out for free to X-Fest attendees on the day of the event.
  • The winning designer will receive their poster printed, framed, and signed by X-Fest 2015 artists.

CLAIMING PRIZES: Winners must claim all prizes (money, concert tickets, etc.) in-person by Friday, June 5, 2015. Winners must bring valid ID to the 91X offices located in San Diego, California in order to claim prizes. All winners will be required to fill out a W-9 form.

POSTER CONTENT:  Upon receipt of contest entry through the 91X.com website, entrants will receive a Dropbox link (via email) containing official contest rules and design files . Photoshop (.psd) and Illustrator (.ai) files with the official poster sizing, official logo of 91X, etc. will be provided. Poster art must include the following:

·     The name “X-Fest”

·     The date “June 7, 2015”

·     91X logo

·     Venue name: “Sleep Train Amphitheater”

·     All participating band names

We encourage participants to design using either the Photoshop or Illustrator file provided. However, traditional media (pen & ink, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, etc.) will also be eligible for entry into the contest.

SUBMITTING ENTRIES: Only entrants who fill out their information in the Official Entry Form on 91X.com will be considered. Artists will be notified of acceptance via email. 

ALL ENTRANTS: Submit digital artwork to 91X in the form of a .jpg, .png, or .gif file at no larger than 50MB. If submitting hand-drawn/painted artwork, please take a picture of the original poster and submit photo as a .jpg no larger than 50MB. All submissions must be received by Friday, May 8, 2015.

GRAND PRIZE WINNER: Only the Grand Prize Winner must submit their final Photoshop file, Illustrator file, or original artwork to 91X. Deadline for this submission is Friday, May 29, 2015.

ENTRY FEE: None.

DEADLINE:  All submissions must be received via online entry form by Friday, May 8, 2015 at 5pm PST. We will notify the top five (5) considerations by Friday, May 15, 2015. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced by Monday, May 25, 2015.

JUDGES:  A panel of judges will be determined by 91X. Website voting may be opened to the public at 91X’s discretion; if so, public opinion may be taken into final consideration of the winner.

RIGHTS FOR USAGE:  The Grand Prize Winner must sign the agreement to release use of artwork to be reproduced for the event poster.  Additionally, the art may or may not be used for incidental items such as banners/posters/stickers/t-shirts, on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram or the 91X website, and for other materials as part of promotional initiatives promoting 91X and X-Fest.

“X-Fest” is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark office by 91X. The use of “X-Fest” may only be used for artwork that will be submitted for consideration in this contest.
