It’s a big deal when a brewery celebrates a 10th anniversary and the Beer for Breakfast crew were happy to kick start the celebration with Culture Brewing. Culture Brewing is celebrating 10 years with 10 lagers at their anniversary party in the Solana Beach tasting room on Saturday, March 25.
Marty, Danielle, and Brewmaster Paul Segura sample 2 of the 10 lagers that will be available. They start with Appa Zappa Neo Mexicanus Lager (4.5% ABV). Brewed in a similar style to a “Mexican Lager”, this beer was made with the concept of being a “New Mexican Lager”. Its grain bill includes extra pale pilsner as well as malted Blue Corn. It’s single hop using a wild native American hop found growing in the hills of New Mexico, “Zappa”, and was named in collaboration with the Frank Zappa family.
Next they sampled Dumbledort Dortmund Export (6.1% ABV). Dumbledort has malty and bready aromas on the nose. It carries malty sweetness as well as classic spicy noble characteristics. This leads to a flavorful yet crisply refreshing beer.
