On the corner of University Avenue and Normal Street next to the Pride flag you will find Hillcrest Brewing Company (HBC). HBC opened in June of 2012 as the “First Gay Brewery in the World” and even though they don’t brew on site any longer, HBC still has a few of the favorites on tap.
Brewmaster Paul Segura brought Marty and Danielle two of the offerings HBC currently has on tap: Beer Head Blonde and Crotch Rocket Irish Style Red.
Beer Head Blonde is a 5.2% ABV Kolsch style ale that is mildly hopped with German noble style hops. Crotch Rocket Irish Style Red is 6.2% ABV, it’s malty, has a smooth texture with a slight fruity overtone. It pairs perfectly with the a pizza, meatballs, or chicken parmesan on their food menu.
HBC has “Hoppy Hour” 7 days a week, a full bar, plus a ton of TVs to watch your favorite sports games while enjoying a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
